Story: The remix of these classic maps mostly focuses on the flow of the action. The original map had a more “open world” feel where the player had multiple options for play. While innovative, this also meant that the map could be beaten relatively easily. I’ve also adjusted the enimies so that they come at the player in waves, rather than all at once. Lastly, the map has dynamic lighting and support for voxels facing the correct ways.

The Sewers:
After being inspired by the recent World Tour maps, as well as seeing the improvements made to eDuke32, I went back to play this map to get a feel for how far Duke 3D and level designs have come. I was inspired by the recent Duke 3D Legacy Edition TC which brought back a lot of cut content. I had the idea of updating this map, and reincorporating it back into the original game. I was able to see where this map fit within Episode 3. While this map stands alone, it can be integrated back into the game by replacing the E3L6 map (Rabid Transit) with the updated version I’ve included, which includes a secret level exit.

Sweeney
I had the idea of updating this map, and reincorporating it back into the original game. Using information from the .99 beta version of Duke 3D, I was able to see where this map fit within Episode 3. While this map stands alone, it can be integrated back into the game by replacing the E3L2 map (Bank Roll) with the updated version I’ve included, which includes a secret level exit.

Note: To incorporate both “Sewage Company” and “The Sewers Below” into Episode 3 copy the following code into your GAME.CON file:

Under Levels, add the following code at the end of the 3rd episode group (line 413):
